Screenshot into ChatGPT, Claude or any AI app, on your Mac

Circle it. Say it. Any AI gets it.

Circle anything on your screen, say what you want, and it goes straight into any AI app.

7 days free, then $6.99/month. Cancel anytime.

Demo, with Claude Code as the example AI app: holding ⌘⇧2, the cursor circles a “Start a project” button while Circl listens and shows the spoken words. On letting go, the screenshot and words arrive in Claude Code in Terminal as [Image #1] and the request, are sent automatically, and Claude Code starts working.

Three steps. No copy-paste.

01 — Hold

Hold the key. Press and hold ⌘⇧2, or a mouse button you pick.

02 — Circle and talk

Circle and talk. Draw around anything on screen and say what you want.

03 — Let go

Let go. The screenshot and your words land in your AI app. It sends by itself in Claude (the app and claude.ai), plus Codex CLI or Claude Code in Terminal; elsewhere you press Return.

Good to know.

What do I need?

A Mac with macOS 14 or later, a microphone, and the AI apps you already use. Circl is tested on Apple silicon with macOS 15. Intel Macs and other macOS versions have not been tested on hardware yet.

Is it private? What permissions does it need?

Setup asks for Screen Recording (to capture the area you circle), Accessibility (to bring your AI app forward and type into its text box), Microphone and Speech Recognition. Speech is transcribed on your Mac; your audio is never uploaded or saved. The screenshot and your words go only to the AI app you are using, when you let go, and that service handles them under its own policies. Circl has no hosted AI, and Circl’s servers never receive your screenshots or words. See Privacy.

Can I check it before it’s sent?

Yes. Turn on Review before sending in Settings. Your screenshot and words then wait in the text box, and you press Return to send. It’s off by default, so in Claude (the app and claude.ai), plus Codex CLI or Claude Code in Terminal letting go sends right away; elsewhere you press Return.

How do the trial and cancelling work?

Open Circl and click Start 7-day free trial. Checkout finishes in your browser and Circl turns on by itself. To cancel, open Manage billing, or Settings → Manage billing in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your trial or current month.

Is it on the Mac App Store?

No. Circl downloads directly from this site and updates itself. Every release is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
